Tirzepatide Weekly Injections
(Peptides GLP-1 & GIP)
What is Tirzepatide? Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injection that is a first-in-class medicine that activates the GLP-1 (Glucagon-like Peptide-1) and GIP (Glucose-Dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide) receptors. These hormones regulate blood sugar levels, suppress appetite, and improve satiety (feelings of fullness).
• Has both peptides GLP-1 & GIP, which improves how effectively your body breaks down sugar & fat.
• Slows gastric emptying. Decreasing appetite.
• Improves insulin resistance & reduces food cravings.
• Improves A1C & reduces the risk of cardiac events.
• Avoids ectopic fat deposition (Ectopic fat can interfere with organ function and is associated with insulin resistance)
• Resets your body’s weight set point (weight your body has gotten used to)
4-week intervals for dosing increases. You can stay at the lower dose if that works for you!
The Pharmacy will send your medication to our office and we will administer your weekly injection. You are also welcome to take your injections home to self-administer. Our Nurse can instruct you how to safely self-administer.
